Dark Souls II Second Trailer: Poetry in Motion

From Software has stepped it up a level with the sequel.

From Software has already revealed a gameplay walkthrough for their upcoming dungeon crawler RPG Dark Souls II. Now we get the official second trailer, which shows off the environments and settings. The monsters of course only make sporadic appearances, but when they do, they’re very much the same frightening creatures.

The settings in Dark Souls II carry the same ashen look of despair, only spread across different environments like forests, castles, and the trademark dungeons. The dynamic lighting looks absolutely amazing, and the detail in the character animations is a significant improvement over the original.

As it stands, the game is aiming to be twice as big as the original and hopefully make more sense with some of its gameplay elements. From Software will maintain the same level of gameplay though, so there’s no reason to fear. Dark Souls II’s release date is to be announced in 2014 for Xbox 360, PC and PS3.
