Mario and Luigi: Dream Team Announced for Nintendo 3DS

In your dreams comes the Mario brothers, MORTAL.

Mario and Luigi: Dream Team was announced at today’s Nintendo Direct by president Satoru Iwata along with a trailer of the game. Following up on the popular RPG platformer series, this iteration will focus on Mario and Luigi trying to save Princess Peach from her latest kidnapping.

This time, Peach has been taken to Pillow Island and Mario must enter the dream realm to save her. This is done by having Luigi fall asleep on magical pillows, with his face taking up the lower touchscreen. By manipulating Luigi’s face, you’ll be able to change certain things in the dream to help Mario. Some of those changes include manipulating platforms and conjuring an army of Luigi’s to swarm foes.

Yes, he’s playing second fiddle but also God, yes.

Mario and Luigi: Dream Team will be releasing on July 12th in Europe and August 11th in the US for the Nintendo 3DS.
