Notion Games’ successful crowd-funded project (that raised $6,333), developed for PC, Mac and Linux, with Maestro Interactive working on a Wii U port, Super Ubi Land is set to be renamed to something else, following concerns from Ubisoft that it may cause confusion with its brand.

On its official Twitter account, Notion Games posted that,”Been exchanging emails with Ubisoft. Unfortunately, we have to change the title of #SuperUbiLand.”

Hilariously enough, fans were quick to chide the publisher for this action. But Notion Games later posted that, “Ubisoft is not doing anything wrong. They’re protecting their business just like any small business would. They don’t want Notion infringing on their brand. They’re being fair.”

As for what the game will be renamed to, that’s anyone’s guess. Super Ubi Land is set to release on the Nintendo eShop for Wii U, along with indication that it could arrive on the Nintendo 3DS. The game is billed as a retro-styled platformer.
