Halo: Reach- Noble Map Pack DLC Review

Posted By | On 03rd, Dec. 2010

The first map pack for Halo Reach, the Noble Pack still including only 3 maps and costs 800 Microsoft Points ($10).  The three new maps are Anchor 9, Tempest and Breakpoint.  Anchor 9 is the smallest of the maps while Breakpoint is the largest.  In Anchor 9 you can actually go outside areas where you are in space which has zero gravity in these areas so you can jump super high which is pretty cool.

The three new maps are pretty cool in comparison to the maps that came with the game.  I can honestly say that I like the Noble Map Pack more than most of the maps that came with the game.  There are plenty of nooks and crannies to use different strategies with on all of the maps.  The maps are also surprisingly good to play on most modes of the game which I can’t say about the original maps.  By far the best part about these new maps are all the different vehicles on them.  You would usually have to play Big Team Battle to get maps with vehicles on them but not anymore.  There are Wraiths, Banshees and you name on these new maps.

The only downside of the maps is really that it basically uses everything you can use in forge to make up these maps.  Although as I said before, I still like these one better than most of the originals.  The hardcore players are just going to buy no matter what but even though it’s typical for Halo to release a three pack of maps for 10 bucks, I find it a rip off.  Give us more maps or something else in the game.  In my opinion 3 maps is not worth 10 dollars unless of course you are a hardcore fan and just some new scenery or content will make it all worth it all.  I would love to sit here and say that certain maps are better for certain modes but they are all fun on all three maps while you personally might like certain modes on certain maps.

This game was reviewed on the Xbox 360.

THE GOOD

Vehicles are now in these maps with out having to play Big Team Battle. Good layout that can provide interesting strategies.

THE BAD

The price for $10 price for 3 maps is getting old. Nothing new as far as environments, all forge elements.

Final Verdict:
GOOD
Your standard Halo Map Pack including three new maps for 800 MSP that Halo fans will jump on and other players will wait for the sales.
