Call of Duty: Ghosts Gameplay Trailers Leaked – Underwater Shooting and Dog Showcased

Sgt. Riley steals the show.

New gameplay trailers for Infinity Ward’s upcoming Call of Duty: Ghosts, which will be published by Activision for the current and next generation of gaming consoles, have been leaked ahead of E3. The trailers showcase two missions within the game – namely, “Into the Deep” and “No Man’s Land”.

Into the Deep details the underwater gameplay of the game. For better or worse, it’s not just about following a non-playable character, witnessing a set-piece that requires some quick thinking and button presses and then progressing forward. In fact, there’s actually some shooting that happens underwater – who could’ve known!

No Man’s Land is far more intriguing because it showcases two important aspects of the game: The setting and the new AI dog companion, Riley. The cratered San Diego looks admittedly impressive and shows off just what the new engine can do for starters. Sure, it may not be as visually amazing as Killzone: Shadow Fall (or even Killzone 3) but for Call of Duty, it’s a big leap forward.

Contrary to expectations, you don’t give voice commands to Riley. You can actually take control of him and guide him via a camera positioned on his back. You’d think that this is ridiculous, and it is, but Riley’s ability to perform stealth take-downs and noiselessly prowl through surroundings is an interesting gameplay addition. Hopefully, there are more possibilities in mind.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is set to release this year on November 5th worldwide for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, Wii U and PC.
