Super Mario 3D World Announced for Wii U, Releases in December 2013

Let's a'go, once more.

Nintendo has revealed a new Super Mario World title for the Wii U, to release in December 2013. Super Mario 3D World will include cooperative and party elements which allow up to 4 players to play at once. It reminds us of Super Mario Bros. 2, except you can’t exactly choose different characters (or at least, it wasn’t showcased). We even see the return of some classic enemies from the first Super Mario World.

However, Mario has some new abilities and powers, which includes the new Cat Suit. This suit allows Mario to jump up and scale walls using a pair of claws. You can also dive at enemies to quickly take them down, as opposed to simply jumping on their heads like a sane person would.

Super Mario 3D World has a ton of competitive modes as well for 4 players, along with a single-player campaign. We’ll update with more details as they arrive.
