Final Fantasy 15
In an interview with Famitsu (translated by Gematsu), Final Fantasy 15 director Tetsuya Nomura reveals several key details about the game, reflecting the approach of Square Enix to be more public with its audience about development.

Nomura has revealed that, “Thanks to next-gen hardware, I could include destruction, warping to high altitudes, and map changing.” So the real-time destruction inherent in the E3 demo wasn’t just one-off – from windows smashing to entire buildings being warped, Final Fantasy 15 will bring in enough destruction to bankrupt a disaster relief fund.

He also revealed several other details such as the ability to free-run towards monsters – allowing for avoiding random encounters – and concerning Noctis’ starting abilities. “Noctis’ level in the E3 2013 trailer is quite high, so he is able to use many weapons and warp freely. Players won’t be able to use all of those skills from the beginning of the game.”

Which is the point – he may be powerful but you need to earn your way up to that, a la Kingdom Hearts. Check out the interview for many more details, including what influenced the decision to rename the game and why it wasn’t showcased last year at E3.

Final Fantasy 15 will be heading to Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
