Ten Minutes of DriveClub Gameplay

Ten minutes of Sony's next generation racing game.

DriveClub is one of those PlayStation 4 launch titles that everyone wants to keep an eye on, if only because there is no idea as to how it will be. The game, which has a lot of trappings of a racing sim, will be Evolution Studios’ first attempt at something more realistic after their MotorStorm series of games, and so far, they seem to be doing a good job at it, even if the game does just look like an ordinary sim beneath all that next gen shine.

Here’s ten minutes of gameplay footage for you to see and make your mind up yourself. It looks good, there is no doubt about that. Still, I have to wonder where it will slot in in a genre that is as dominated by Microsoft’s Forza Motorsport and Sony’s own Gran Turismo. I also have to wonder the thinking that went behind releasing a new IP by a studio with considerably less cachet so close to Sony’s own Gran Turismo 6 (on the PlayStation 3).

Regardless, all these peripheral issues aside, the game looks great. Stay tuned for our coverage.
