ps4 release date

For Europe and North America, we know when the PlayStation 4 is launching- Sony announced those release dates back during their Gamescom conference. But one major territory, at least, is still waiting for the announcement of the release date of Sony’s upcoming console- Japan, Sony’s home territory, still does not have a release date yet.

Well that’s about to change soon, as on September 9, Sony will announce the PlayStation 4’s release date for the Land of the Rising Sun during a conference that will be streamed worldwide, reports VG247. Although a November release date is not completely out of the question, it is likelier that the PS4 will launch there later, perhaps early next year, in order to allocate more shipments to Europe and North America, both territories with a stronger console market than Japan, and both territories where Microsoft and Nintendo are more competitive in the console market than they are in Japan. Sony will perhaps push the PS Vita as its headlining console in Japan for this holiday season, with PS4’s release during February or March next year.

Of course, this is all speculation, and we don’t really know. But we will, soon. The release date will be announced September 9, and as always, you’ll find the news here on GamingBolt as soon as it goes live.
