The Evil Within Extended Gameplay Trailer: The New Nightmare

Good night, and good luck.

If there’s one thing that Shinji Mikami does best, it’s horror. And if there’s one thing that The Evil Within does better than horror, it’s mind-melting terror that never lets up. A new extended gameplay trailer has popped up, which you can view above if you have the guts.

You’ll be playing as Detective Sebastian Castellanos who awakens within a mad land full of monsters and demons after rushing to the scene of a crime and witnessing his fellow officers die. It’s not clear just what’s going on but the whole point is to survive – even if it means fighting off the madness of his close friend as well. Did we mention a mysterious force which is pulling the strings? There’s also that.

The Evil Within will be releasing early next year on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC. It will be using a modified version of id Tech 5 Engine.
