Meanwhile, Retro Studios’ Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze has been delayed to February 2014. According to the developer, this is being done in order to ensure the best gaming experience for fans. How will that impact Nintendo’s chances during the Winter? It remains to be seen.

Super Mario 3D World is on track though, and will be releasing on November 22nd. A new website for the game has been launched, and a new trailer has been revealed for the upcoming platformer.

Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games will also be releasing in November for the Wii U, and will allow players across the world to play together online for the first time. There will be four events, namely Ski Cross, Snowboard Cross and Short Track Speed Skating, along with Winter Sports Champion Race which combines Skiing, Ice Skating, Bobsleigh and Snowboard into one grueling contest. Players can pick it up from the Nintendo eShop for $49.99 or from retail for $59.99, which also comes with a Wii Remote Plus controller.
