Playcast, a cloud gaming company has announced that its video gaming streaming service will be available in North America using Amazon Web Services cloud infrastructure.

Playcast Chief Executive Officer, Guy had the following to say regarding the announcement:

“Gamers are getting ready to spend billions on dedicated hardware and physical discs, that’s several hundred dollars per gamer. Our service takes advantage of the AWS cloud, as well as existing networks and devices, to stream the best games to consumer households via our media partners at a fraction of that cost and those savings can be passed down to the consumer.”

Playcast currently boasts over 650,000 players and offer streaming of games like Batman Arkham City, Street Fighter Versus Tekken, and Sonic Generations. Playcast is represented by Bouygues in France, and CJ in Korea and is expected to hit North America in second quarter of 2014.
