The Steam Developer Days conference will feature guest speakers from AMD, Nvidia, Intel, Oculus VR and Unity, but Valve has also revealed talks planned regarding the company’s virtual reality (VR) plans.
The first talk will see Valve’s Abrash speaking about “What VR Could, Should, and Almost Certainly Will Be within Two Years,” in which a prototype has been assembled to showcase the kind of experiences that can be delivered. A few attendees will also get a chance to try out the prototype.
Joe Ludwig will be holding a second talk on “Virtual Reality and Steam”, in which Valve will discuss plans for VR on Steam, including virtual reality games, Steam’s overlay in VR, Steam Store changes and a plan for Steamworks to incorporate VR.
The conference will be taking place over two days on January 15th to 16th in 2014. You can check out the event schedule here for more details. Stay tuned for more details.
