Forza Horizon, the spin off for the mainline Forza Motorsport franchise that hit the Xbox 360 back on 2012, provided for a very unique kind of racing experience that Xbox had sorely lacked since the end of the Project Gotham Series. The game, which was received well critically and commercially, has long been expected to have a follow up, especially given that this is Microsoft, and they try to capitalize on their exclusive IPs as much as possible.
And so, another rumor for a potential Forza Horizon 2 has surfaced, reports VG247. This time, the source is a Facebook post made by Ultima Sports, which noted that after being included by Microsoft in Forza 4 and Forza 5, their relationship had been extended, and they were going to be included in a new, as yet unannounced racing game due out some time in 2014. The post was removed shortly after (adding more fuel to the fire), but not before some screengrabs were taken.
Coupled with previous rumors and rumblings- a technical artist at Playground Games noted last summer that he was working on a next gen, undisclosed Forza game, after the announcement of Forza Motorsport 5, alongside when Phil Spencer mentioned Forza Horizon as one of the currently active racing IPs on Xbox- and the possibility of a Forza Horizon 2 this year becomes more and more probable.
In any case, stay tuned to GamingBolt, and we will keep you posted on any further developments.
