League of Legends Features 27 Million Players Daily – Riot Games

More than doubles daily user numbers since October 2012.

League-of-Legends

Even if it wasn’t the most profitable free to play game in 2013, Riot Games’ League of Legends did earn second place with a startling $625 million. If that weren’t enough, the developer has recently stated to the Wall Street Journal that it has 27 million players daily. That’s a lot of swearing and cursing.

The interesting thing to note is that Riot Games itself handed over the figures (remember, it was a third party who reported on the 2013 revenue of free to play games). It also stated that its player base had more than doubled since October 2012, reaching 27 million from 12 million by now.

It’s not like we doubt their figures too much. After all, peak usage is as high as 7.5 million users, which is about 50 percent up from 5 million concurrent users in March 2013. Can anything top the LOL in terms of usage and daily player numbers? Let us know what you think about the game’s dominance in the comments below.
