Infamous: Second Son

If you have been following inFamous Second Son then you must have observed the cool particle effects that the game boasts of. Sucker Punch co-founder, Chris Zimmerman explained how the PlayStation 4 has helped them to build a custom particle system for inFamous Second Son and how this has allowed them to have tens of thousands particle effects in the game.

“The thing that surprised us most about the PS4 was how many particles we could jam through it every frame. We built a new particle system around the PS4 architecture, so we kind of expected it to work well, but we were excited to see just how well. We can have particle systems with tens of thousands of particles without any trouble, and have up to a hundred or two thousand particles on screen at once in effects-heavy shots. We wouldn’t have been able to do smoke and neon as powers without the sinuous curves that all those particles afford us,” he said in an interview with Metro.

The game consists of amazing powers, one of them being the neon ones with amazing lightning and particle effects. You can check that out in the trailer below:

The game releases next week exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
