Kotaku has obtained some rather interesting early build screenshots depicting the next iteration in the Assassin’s Creed series. Titled “Unity”, the screenshots has been sent by anonymous source and showcases Paris with landmarks like Notre Dame, the Seine River and much more.
We can also see who the newest protagonist in the series will be, and judging by the flintlock pistol, Ubisoft is still staying in the olden 18th century era with Unity. There’s also a new mechanic indicated in the on-screen controls which says Parkour Up and Parkour Down that will apparently be a new feature when the game is out this year.
Interestingly, various sources have confirmed that there will indeed be two Assassin’s Creed games out this year. While Unity will be on the PS4 and Xbox One, another game titled “Comet” will be on the PS3 and Xbox 360. It’s possible that both versions will be on PC though, and there’s been no word of Wii U versions for either title.
Earlier rumours indicated that Ubisoft was splitting next-gen and current-gen responsibilities for Assassin’s Creed across separate games. While that’s still unconfirmed, the evidence of Unity is very much in front of our eyes. Assassin’s Creed: Unity might not even be the final name for the game when it releases.
What do you make of these leaked screens though? Let us know in the comments.
