Dragon Age: Inquisition Won’t Get Any DLC Characters

Because of the on disc DLC controversy.

Dragon Age: Inquisition

Bioware’s upcoming Dragon Age: Inquisition, the promising looking third installment in the Dragon Age saga that started off on a high note with Dragon Age: Origins back in 2009, then faltered somewhat with 2011’s Dragon Age II, will not feature any DLC characters, OXM reports.

“Because of how deeply enmeshed in the system companion characters are, we can’t just add them on the fly; part of them has to be shipped on the disc,” creative director Mike Laidlaw told OSM. “Which has led to criticism that we’re forcing people to pay for content they already own.

“It’s not the case, but we’ve decided this time to not go that route. There will be no DLC party members.”

So it sounds like Bioware is responsive to fan feedback, concerns, and criticisms, and is attempting to respond to them. Good on them for taking one of the most prominent criticisms of their games head on, and addressing it in a transparent manner.
