Xbox One Coming To China

Microsoft has announced that the Xbox One will finally be releasing officially in China in September of this year, boasting to become the first OTT console of the region, OTT, in this case, refers to over the top content, which content delivered over the Internet where the ISP is only responsible for delivering data (for example, movies from Netflix).

“Launching Xbox One in China is a significant milestone for us and for the industry, and it’s a step forward in our vision to deliver the best games and entertainment experiences to more fans around the world,” said Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft’s corporate VP of marketing and strategy for devices and studios.

Considering China’s population, it’s safe to say that Microsoft are entering a potentially huge market, but you never know with matters like hardware sales- in China, of all places. Recently China lifted its restrictions on selling video games. You can check the report here.
