Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will be taking the series into the future, and its players will have to contend with futuristic mecha suits and all new technology as a result. For a game that lives and dies by its movement and by its weapons, this is obviously a big change- and Sledgehammer Games explains just how they conceived of the technology in their newest developer diary for the game (embedded above).
As expected, the game’s weapons and technology are all based on present day parallels and corresponding equivalents- part of this was done because the developers did not want the game to feel too outlandish, they wanted the game to still feel somewhat grounded in reality. At the same time, they wanted some clearly futuristic designs in there either, so concessions to concepts like hoverbikes were made.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare launches this November for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, and PC.
