Alien: Isolation is “Almost Platform Agnostic” in Terms of Visuals

The frame is "pretty comparable" according to The Creative Assembly's Gary Napper.

Alien: Isolation

The Creative Assembly’s Alien: Isolation will feature top-notch visuals to ensure you’re always immersed in the game, and according to Gary Napper, you’ll still see the same visuals across all platforms. There is a catch – or two – of course.

Speaking to OXM, Napper said that the game would run at 1080p on PS4 and Xbox One but”That’s actually not something I get that into, because we build it on one central engine and then kick it out to different versions.

“So when I think about working on the game it’s almost platform agnostic because I only think about the differences between platforms and the different mechanics we can use like the light on the PS4 pad and the stuff with Kinect 2.0.

“So I think with frame rate it’s pretty comparable. There’s no noticeable drop or change in graphics between them. Obviously there are a lot more options to tweak and scale up on the PC.”

The visuals will be inferior on the Xbox 360 and PS3 in terms of texture quality though due to the older hardware. At the very least it seems that the developer will work to ensure all the versions look as similar to each other as possible.

Alien: Isolation will be out on October 7th for the PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Update: Added a new trailer.
