EA promises more information on Star Wars Battlefront in 2015 but in terms of a release date, the game is still very much up in the air. During a recent investor’s call, executive vice president of EA Studios Patrick Soderlund said he preferred if it could launching around Star Wars: Episode VII’s release window.
“What we’re building is more rooted in the traditional Star Wars universe and not so much necessarily linked to the movies being made. And that’s just because we wanted to make a game that celebrated the history of Star Wars.
“Obviously there will be things in there that are somewhat tied to the new movie. I wouldn’t say that we have a particular tie to the movie. Now, obviously we would prefer to be close to the movie, but I wouldn’t say that we’re directly tied to it.”
Star Wars: Episode 7 is set to release in 2015. Does that mean Star Wars Battlefront will come after that, especially given DICE’s propensity for delaying games (*cough*Battlefield: Hardline*cough*)? Let us know in the comments.
