PS Now Open Beta Starts Today

Just in case you were interested, I guess.

Sony announced PS Now earlier this year, and it’s been in a closed, invite only beta for a while now. The service, for the uninitiated, will let users stream PS3 games on to their PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Sony TVs, and PlayStation 3 (yes, I don’t know why you’d want to stream PS3 games on to your PS3 either), but it won’t have a subscription plan, letting you ‘rent’ titles to stream for low prices of $15 for 90 days (in which case… you know, just go out and buy the damn game. Also, to Sony’s credit, they have said a subscription plan is coming).

Anyway, if, for some reason, you want to see how this service works- morbid curiosity, perhaps- then today, it went into open beta for all PS4 owners in North America. Sony is also offering rentals for $1.99 (these will last you four hours), in case that’s your thing.

I don’t know, as far as online streaming services go, I think EA has a better idea with EA Access than Sony does with PS Now.
