Insurgency Sets Its Sights On PS4 and Xbox One

The hardcore FPS is aiming high.

The popular first person shooter Insurgency, developed by New World Interactive,  is setting its sights on an ambitious future on consoles.

In the games latest update, the games director Jeremy Blum has said, “Although the game may be considered a ‘finished’ product, we are constantly evolving our vision and looking forward to growing in the years to come. We have ‘next-gen’ and console ambitions. Whether or not we stay on the same engine, we will see, but one thing we know is this is just the beginning.”

If you’re unfamiliar with Insurgency, the game has found success on it’s native PC platform with its gameplay that forces players to work together with its one life per player mechanics. It also strips you of the conventional targeting reticule and weapon mechanics by having realistic ballistic and weapon behavior, effectively making it one of the most hardcore shooters on the market at the minute.

You can also get Insurgency at 50% off this weekend as well as play the game for free for the whole weekend. How nice is that? Just remember to keep your head down and help your squad and victory will be yours.
