Assassin’s Creed: Unity has been attracting a good amount of positive press at Gamescom but there is some criticism regarding Assassin’s Creed: Rogue. More specifically, there are some people who have a problem with two titles releasing back to back. Rogue producer Karl von der Luhe has stated to Eurogamer that the majority of fans are happy that a new game is coming out, especially given the prevalence of previous generation titles.
“There are the hardcore Assassin’s Creed fans that are happy to play two games and there are of course many fans that have not yet made that financial move to go to next-gen. These are the guys that we’re really catering for – they’re thankful for the fact that they will have a compelling Assassin’s Creed game to play on either their Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3.”
Luhe also said that, “The idea of being a Templar has been around for years – ever since AC. Locking down the actual idea and story, that was around two years ago. I won’t go into the exact details of when we started and all that, but we’re very confident with the amount of time we’ve had this.”
Assassin’s Creed: Rogue releases this November for Xbox 360 and PS3, while Unity is out in October end for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
