Hey, you all do remember The Evil Within, right? The survival horror game from Shinji Mikami, often dubbed as the father of survival horror (he is behind the genre defining Resident Evil series, including the seminal Resident Evil 4), has gotten a fair bit of criticism and flak lately, and maybe it’s not as hyped now as it was at its reveal, but you know what, I think that there’s just been a fair bit of misinformation circling around about this game. I think we should all give it a shot by seeing it in action for ourselves and deciding what we think of it.

To that end, here are 60 minutes of gameplay from the game. Obviously, these will consist of spoilers (a bigger deal for survival horror games than most others), but at least this way we know for ourselves what the game is like, right?

The Evil Within launches later this year on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, and PC. It will be published by Bethesda.
