This year’s TGS promises to sort of be a return to form for the former premier games show, after it was a bust for so many years in a row now. We already have the promise of some major new stuff being shown off for PlayStation and Nintendo devices, and third party vendors have some pretty cool stuff to show off too.
One of these third parties is Square Enix, one of Japan’s biggest publishers, who will be taking the stage at TGS to talk about Flare, their mysterious new cloud gaming project.
The event itself will take place Friday, September 19, at 10am Japanese Time, and will discuss the potential of cloud gaming, and how Flare promises to realize it. That is about all that we know about the event, or even about Flare- Square Enix hasn’t actually said a lot about the game, beyond a confusing comment that sought to distance the game from streaming services like OnLive and PlayStation Now.
We’ll keep you posted on all of it, so stay tuned.
