Acid Nerve’s Titan Souls may never launch on the Xbox One. This is due to Microsoft’s strange parity clause wherein indies need to launch their games on all platforms together or first on Xbox One. This same policy was termed as brutal last week by Krillbite Studios’ Adrian Tingstad Husby.
Now at first look you may not find anything special about Titan Souls but if you watch the 18 minute long gameplay video above, you will definitely feel intrigued by what this game has to offer. Indie games are now more relevant than ever and Microsoft is only hurting its games library by having such strange clauses.
Speaking to Acid Nerve’s Mark Foster, GamingBolt asked him whether there is any chance we may see a Xbox One version in the future. “Microsoft’s policies still have parity clauses which mean if we release it on PS4/Vita first, we can’t bring it to their console later so it probably won’t be on Xbox,” he said.
It’s worth noting that he does not confirm that it will not be released on Xbox One at all in the future but the as you can make out from his response the chances of that happening are slim. We hope that Microsoft will be revisit their policies and make it more open for indie developers and games in the future.
Titan Souls is due for the PlayStation 4, PS Vita and PC.
