The Order: 1886 Developer Defends Bungie’s Destiny

'Anything under an 8 is ridiculous!'

Destiny

Bungie’s Destiny may have been one of the most overhyped and underdelivering products of all time, as with its massive budget and incredible amount of hype, it opened to extremely mixed reviews and reception from the gaming public, with its current Metascore being 75- all in all, an inauspicious start to what Bungie hoped would be an all new universe.

Now, however, a Ready at Dawn developer, namely Co-founder Andrea Pessino, who took to Twitter to rage about the game, saying that he could not ‘for the life of [him] understand how Destiny could be rated 6… anything under 8 is ludicrous.’

Others soon jumped into the conversation, with someone pointing out that Destiny may be a fairly good game, but it has a lot of issues, especially consid4ering the pedigree of developer Bungie, to which Pessino said ‘It has faults, but come on, a 6? It deserves more just on scope and art.’

Well, Pessino, I have news for you- opinions differ, and I, for one, am very glad that the industry at large has taken to calling out bland and boring AAA games that publishers and developers seem to think can somehow blind players with shiny graphics. Destiny may be an okay game, but as it stands, that is all that it is, and for once, the industry consensus seems to reflect that.
