New Trailer For The Evil Within Looks AWESOME

I need my security blanket.

Shinji Mikami is the Master of Horror games. He has revolutionized the survival horror genre twice in his lifetime, in as many decades- first, with the original Resident Evil game, that he released with Capcom back on the original PlayStation, and then with Resident Evil 4, also released with Capcom, for Nintendo’s Gamecube.

Now, it seems that he will be doing it for a third time- as the upcoming survival horror game, The Evil Within, which he is developing in conjunction with Bethesda (his first game developed since he broke off from Capcom and then from Platinum) looks absolutely insane. As the survival horror genre continues to flounder and die (Resident Evil is a shell of its former self, Dead Space has withered on the vine), at least Mikami, it seems, still has a handle on these things.

But don’t let me oversell it. Check out the trailer above for yourself and tell us what you think.
