Ori and the Blind Forest has undoubtedly been one of the highlights of Xbox’s upcoming lineup since its unveil at E3, and it’s been like the rallying point for people who want to answer to allegations of Xbox’s apparent lack of indie friendliness, or a lack of variety in its lineup. But if you were hoping to play it soon- it was originally announced to be out by this year end, after all- well then, there is some bad news for you, as Microsoft has officially delayed the Xbox One version of the game to 2015, with the Xbox 360 version being delayed to even ‘later in 2015.’ The PC version, however, should launch right alongside the Xbox One version.

“While we’re extremely excited for all of you to get your hands on Ori and the Blind Forest as soon as possible, we made the decision together with our partners at Microsoft Studios that we’ll need just a little more time in order to add a final layer of polish to – what we hope – will be an unforgettable gaming experience,” developer Moon Studios explained.

“We want to thank all the Ori and the Blind Forest fans out there for their continued encouragement and their amazing support.”

Take your time, guys. I’d rather not have another promising game wrecked because it was rushed to launch.
