Ubisoft has been trying to make good ever since the buggy release of Assassin’s Creed: Unity – whose latest patch reportedly fixed 300 bugs and still hadn’t caught everything – but there is now a general worry when it comes to anything bearing the banner’s label. Ivory Tower’s The Crew is the next Ubisoft game and given how it’s a massively multiplayer online racing title, problems are a given out of the gate.

However, according to lead game designer Serkan Hasan in conversation with The Metropolist, there is “confidence in the stability of the game and its performance”. He also believes the studio “have what it takes to make [this] a successful launch. For The Crew, we’ve reaped the benefits of a long term beta program, designed specifically to push our infrastructure as far as possible in real world situations, with thousands of players from all over the world playing the game at the same time.”

Of course, there are still the issues of online play. Hasan states that, “The launch of any online game these days has potential issues but I hope that players will be encouraged by our open approach. If you had any doubts that we could pull this off, I hope that the betas proved our credentials and the game’s stability.”

Players won’t need to worry about frame rates and resolutions because even if The Crew is at 30 FPS, it will still be in 1080p for both the Xbox One and PS4 at launch. The Crew is out on December 2nd and will also be releasing for PC and Xbox 360. Are you looking forward to it? Let us know below.
