Apparently, Destiny: The Dark Below Changes How Loot Works For Raids

Look! Some changes that actually make Destiny's design somewhat sensible!

Destiny is a flawed game, an endless, self perpetuating grind that exists only for itself with no tangible rewards or benefits for the users. That said, apparently Bungie is trying to fix at least one aspect of the entire grind- how the loot works in the game’s Raid. As it stands right now, loot is basically governed by an RNG, meaning you can actually keep doing the same thing over and over again and be left with no loot drops. Apparently, the upcoming The Dark Below changes all of that.

For Crota’s End (the Raid that is added with the expansion), the game will essentially keep track of what loot you’ve received, and how long it’s been since you got a proper reward like a decent weapon or piece of armour, as opposed to upgrade materials- a definite step up from how the current Raid, the Vault of Glass, handles all of it.

What is currently unknown is if these changes apply to Vault of Glass as well, or if they will be confined to Crota’s End for now. Still, at least this is proof that Bungie is listening… at least a little.
