Man Destroying 20th Anniversary Edition PS4, Asking for $20,000 To Do It

Humanity is doomed.

PS4

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the original PlayStation, Sony released a special themed edition of the PlayStation 4 in extremely limited quantities; the item was so sought after that it went for thousands of dollars on auction sites like eBay, with one console selling for as high as $20,100.

Related, though not at first sight, to all this is the fact that videos that showcase the newest electronic gadgetry being destroyed and subjected to all kinds of abuse are actually pretty popular on YouTube, pulling in hundreds of thousands in views, and probably that much in advertising revenues as well.

Put the two together, and what do you get? Yes, exactly- a man wants to destroy his 20th Anniversary PS4 on camera. But he doesn’t have the gumption to just wantonly destroy something that is clearly worth so much- no, he wants to destroy it, and he wants you to pay for it. He has put the project up on Kickstarter, asking for $20,300 in pledges over the next 60 days… and at least a couple of people have bitten already.

Yikes. Takes all kinds, I guess.
