Microsoft Dropping The Price of Xbox One To $349 In The US Again

And this time, it sounds like it's permanent.

Xbox One Without Kinect

Microsoft made a series of aggressive moves with the Xbox One back in November, which included bundles, co-branding deals, and some inspired marketing, but undoubtedly, the best move that they made was the price drop of the system to $349, which undercuts the PS4’s price by $50, and, when bundled games are thrown into the equation, can effectively lead to two games’ worth in savings.

Bafflingly enough, Microsoft ended the promotion earlier this year, but either their sales must have dropped after that, or they figured the earlier promotion was economically viable for them, because they are now bringing it back- starting right this moment, you can purchase an Xbox One for just $349 all across America. And unlike the earlier promotion, this one does not come with an end date either.

“I want to thank all of the Xbox fans who contributed to our record-setting holiday and making 2014 such a successful year,” Major Nelson said. “The Xbox One deals were quite popular and have inspired a new promotion starting January 16 where fans in the U.S. can buy an Xbox One for $349 at their preferred retailer.”

So, that now means that the Xbox One is a cheaper gateway to the AAA next generation ecosystem than the PS4 is. No doubt Sony will be preparing a response to this move very soon now. Stay tuned.
