Earlier today we showed you a video that feature a solid 40 minutes of gameplay from the upcoming Final Fantasy 15 demo, Episode Duscae as well as touring the entire gameplay map. The video also contained a portion of gameplay that showcased the world viewed at night time.
What you may have noticed about the video, which was from the recent Active Time Report Page 4.0 broadcast, is that its somewhat choppy in places and seems to jitter and jumper a bit. Well the game’s director, Hajime Tabata, has since mentioned that the demo build of the game won’t reach 1080p and won’t even be running at 30 frames per second.
While a 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second is still the teams goal, it seems a bit reckless to release a demo build of your game when even that can’t reach your target. This will surely colour people’s opinion of the game, drag down the amount of pre-orders for it, and it will certainly be used in arguments against the game’s long development cycle. Perhaps this demo wasn’t such a good idea after all.
