Konami Removes The Kojima Productions Logo From Silent Hills Website

Inevitable, but sad nonetheless.

TP Silent Hills PS4

The messy divorce between Kojima and his development studio, and Konami, continues. After it was announced that Kojima would be leaving Konami after his work on The Phantom Pain was done, that he would no longer be permitted to have unmonitored communications with the rest of the world until his work with Konami was done, that a new team would be assembled to make Metal Gear games after The Phantom Pain, and that Kojima’s name (and everything associated with it) would be expunged as much as was legally permissible, we get the newest volley in this series- the Kojima logo has been reduced from the website of Silent Hills, the as of yet unreleased reboot of the classic horror franchise that Kojima had announced he was working on in association with acclaimed film director Guillermo del Toro.

This will come as bad news for those who were hoping that the game, which everyone has already gotten to play in some small capacity thanks to its demo, P.T., that was released on PSN last year, would still be made. Now it seems like even if it is, Kojima won’t be involved- which means that it might turn out to be another soulless Konami outsourced Silent Hill game that completely misses the point.

Let’s hope that’s not the case.
