Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege

More and more PC games are starting to forego physical retail releases, and instead focus entirely on releasing just digitally, and the market that is seeing this happen the most is the UK. The newest game to jump the physical release boat entirely is Rainbow Six: Siege, which Ubisoft has announced will be getting a digital only release for its pC version in the UK.

The exception to this will be the special Collector’s Edition, which will remain the sole way to obtain the game on the PC physically in the UK.

“In the UK, Rainbow Six Siege PC standard version will be available solely through digital download,” Ubisoft said. “However, we can confirm that a physical Collector’s Edition will be available at usual UK retailers.

Of course, even digitally, the game will be available through a variety of avenues- it can be purchased directly from Steam or Uplay, or Steam keys can be purchased from third party vendors such as Green Man Gaming, or Amazon. Still, it’s a little sad to see the era of the physical PC game release slowly drawing to a close.
