According to Sony Software Product Development Chief Scott Rhode, the world might be focusing on E3 when it comes to new game reveals, but he’s plenty focused on Greenlighting more games that might not be unveiled until later this year or next. Speaking on the Playstation BlogCast, Rhode talked about the fact that he is based in San Diego but journey’s up to the Sony Playstation headquarters a couple of times of week.

During his most recent trip, he took in the sites of the campus while also having a number of meetings geared towards greenlighting even more games for the PS4, as well as the PS Vita. While Rhode wouldn’t be specific about what kind of games might be coming down the pike, he might have dropped a hint or two:

“Today it was various meetings in the morning, greenlight meetings talking about new games that I can’t talk about on this podcast, then right into having lunch with Greg Johnson, the original creator of ToeJam & Earl, who also worked with Doki Doki Universe, that’s his baby. He is a very fascinating guy to just sit and talk to and one of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet in your life.”

The specific mention of Johnson is interesting if only because he recently attempted to get Toejam and Earl: Back in the Groove funded using a Kickstarter. The goal for that project fell short by about $90,000. Perhaps the good news of increased revenues for the PS4 and Vita that surfaced yesterday has convinced Rhode his company can foot that final $90,000 bill.
