Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes Free on PlayStation Plus in June

Kojima Productions' action stealth prologue will be free on PS4 next month.

Sony promised a big-name game for PlayStation Plus’s Instant Game Collection in June and it wasn’t kidding. Kojima Productions’ Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes will be available for free next month on the PlayStation 4 and it’s arguably one of the biggest games ever to grace the free service.

Ground Zeroes released in March 2014 and served as the prologue to the MGS5 story. Because of this, it was relatively shorter in length and served as more of an introduction to the new gameplay style that Kojima Productions had been cultivating in the FOX Engine. The epilogue will be Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, releasing in September 1st, and this is a great way to get PS4 consumers acquainted with the story before its thunderous conclusion.

Other free games out next month include Skulls of the Shogun: Bone-A-Fide Edition for the PS4; Super Exploding Zoo and Futuridium EP Deluxe on the PS Vita and PS4; and Call of Juarez: Gunslinger and Cloudberry Kingdom on the PS3. European users will see the same line-up in next month’s Instant Game Collection so let us know what you think of it in the comments.
