LEGO Dimensions Lets Players Rebuild Items

LEGO All Stars.

LEGO Dimensions, Warner Bros.’ take on the toys to life genre currently dominated by Skylanders, Disney Infinity, and Amiibo, is almost here, and we’re learning more and more about it as its release date approaches. For instance, take the newest trailer for the game, which you can see embedded above- it shows us that in LEGO Dimensions, every LEGO vehicle and gadget can be built and rebuilt twice, to get a total of three different objects.

It might sound complicated and confusing, but the video makes it pretty easy to follow (plus you can rest assured that in a game aimed at kids, Warner Bros. and Traveler Tales will be sure to keep it simple). Building new objects will net you new abilities.

LEGO Dimensions will feature The Simpsons,Doctor Who, Ghostbusters, Portal, Jurassic World, Midway Arcade, LEGO Chima, Scooby Doo,  DC Comics, The Lord of the Rings, The LEGO Movie, The Wizard of Oz, LEGO Ninjago and Back to the Future. That’s a fairly heft all stars list, but the crossover appeal, as well the cumulative brand power, should help the game find some footing in a highly crowded and competitive marketplace.

LEGO Dimensions will launch on September 29 for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Wii U.
