Destiny Perk Glitch Leads to Near-Instant Golden Gun for Hunters

Ever wondered how some Hunters seem to have constant Golden Guns in Crucible?

Destiny Hunter

Bungie’s Destiny isn’t perfect – it’s rife with glitches and problems like any other game (even if it’s just an MMO-lite). However, one such glitch has been discovered – and may have been going on for a lot longer than intended – which can lead to Gunslinger Hunters gaining near instantaneous Supers with a single grenade.

The grenade in question is the Swarm Grenade, which breaks into small pellets and hovers in place. As enemies walk near it, the pellets immediately attack them. There are often perks for gear in the game, such as “Ashes to Assets”, which can grant more Super energy from grenade kills. The glitch in this case involves added Super energy from each single pellet of the Swarm Grenade.

Each pellet is considered its own grenade in this case, which means added energy compared to other grenades, but the worst part is that the perk will proc even if you just damage your target. Heck, it even procs on corpses. But wait, there’s more – if a Gunslinger has more than one piece of gear with the Ashes to Assets perk, the Super energy gain is apparently doubled (and it was already bad enough that one grenade with the perk can nearly fill your entire Super meter).

One may wonder how this is problematic – wouldn’t it do wonders for PvE? However, bring it into PvP and you’ll see Gunslinger Hunters netting a Golden Gun much faster and more easily than, say, a Warlock using Obsidian Mind or two Defender Titans spamming Orbs with Ward of Dawn. Add more Hunters to the mix and you have a never ending stream of Golden Guns.

It’s a fairly bad glitch and has only been discovered recently thanks to YouTubers like Lightningsoul. The only reason he outlined the glitch is to encourage Bungie to fix it as soon as possible. And really, like Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’s Goliath glitch, the best way for a glitch like this to be fixed is if its usage increases exponentially, for better or worse.

What are your thoughts on the glitch? Let us know in the comments.
