Check Out Street Fighter V’s Battle System In This New Video

The names of the new mechanics sound like some Wii games Nintendo might have made.

The fifth numbered entry in Capcom’s storied fighting game saga, Street Fighter V, is scheduled to launch some time next year. While players are expected to get a chance to go hands on with the title some time before then, and understand the changes being made to the fighting system ahead of the game’s release, we were also treated to a video today, which you can see above, that gives us an insight into just how things have changed.

The new mechanics being introduced this time around are the V-Triggers and V-Skills, which will be replacing fourth generation mechanics such as Focus Attacks and Ultra Combos. All V-Skills are free to use, meaning they don’t deplete your V-Gauge, but if you really want to turn the tide of battle, the new V-Trigger system pushes your character to the limits of their martial prowess. The V-Trigger system gives each character a more distinguished fighting style, and it is easily activated by pressing the heavy buttons together once the V-Gauge is full. Needless to say, it does utilize your V-Gauge.

Street Fighter V will be launching in Spring next year on PlayStation 4 and PC. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more coverage and information.
