Now that Microsoft has officially announced that the Xbox One is going to be backwards compatible with some Xbox 360 games later this year, the company has released an FAQ in order for gamers to better understand how this whole process is going to work.

The posting on the forum, among other things answers why the list of 18 games that are apparently going to be available when this feature is officially launched is so short and so unimpressive. In particular, the company explains why Borderlands was part of the announcement at E3 but isn’t on the list. The answer to that question should put some minds at ease, at least a little as the company says they are working with their partners to add games that will be backwards compatible.

Another interesting nugget, hinted at but not explicitly stated is that gamers will also be able to continue 360 saves from these backwards compatible games on your Xbox One, as long as you’ve saved them to the cloud. If Microsoft does indeed grow the list and grow it quickly this feature could be a literal game changer in the console wars with the PS4.
