Bloodborne Patch 1.05 Now Available, Delivers Level Scaling for Co-op

The recently announced patch finally fixes the level scaling in multiplayer.

The Bloodborne patch that Sony announced last week has now gone live for PS4 users. While Sony did herald a whole lot of changes to the game with this patch, which is relatively small as far as patches go, it had promised that the new content would allow for level scaling.

As we pointed out previously, this means that among other things, If the level difference between the host and the guest when matched using a password is large, the guest’s stats will be adjusted to match the host’s. There are also some other bug fixes and matching changes have been included in the patch, officially dubbed 1.05 but making things a bit more fair when playing in the game’s multiplayer is certainly something that fans of the horror/action game were asking for.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that a game put out by From Software would be exceedingly difficult to succeed in, but the multiplayer matching system seemed ostensibly broken at times. This will hopefully allow for a better level of fairness. It will also actually make the game that much harder to get through using the co-op mode. In a sense, From Software is making sure that this game lives up to its billing as yet another one that is incredibly hard to survive.

As someone who had a hard time getting through the very first level, I guess a ‘thank you’ is in order? The chance to cheese your way through Bloodborne with a partner who was quite a bit better than you is now gone.
