Wargaming and Microsoft announced Tuesday morning that as of today, World of Tanks is officially available for download on the Xbox One. This lives up to the promise made a little over a week ago that the game would be available on July 28. The companies are touting this particular version of the game as one that was specially made for the Xbox One, and it sports something not many other games can offer. This title offers the ability to carry over play between the Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions of the game.

Obviously, there are a number of new features in this version, including some souped up graphics and there is also a new playable mode called Player versus Environment (PVE) mode. The cross platform play of this game means that as long as someone is using the same login on both the Xbox One and Xbox 360, they will be able to port any advancements when it comes to the tech tree progress and in-game research.

The cross-platform playability also means that gamers will actually be able to take on anyone who is on the Xbox platform. There is even the ability to use voice-chat between the platforms. Best of all, Xbox Live Gold gamers can download the game for free. Those who don’t have that particular option will be able to try out the game for seven days. This will give players just enough time to check out the game and see if it might be something that would make it worth upgrading to the enhanced online features Gold has to offer.
