While most of the video game playing world was waiting for the release of the new launch trailer for Metal Gear Sold 5: The Phantom Pain by Hideo Kojima, there was actually another video released the other day that gives us a look at the playable world in the game and the way you can use the many weapons available. Because this is a true open world game, Konami has long said that there will be a number of different ways to complete missions and it appears blowing stuff up is certainly one way to go.

This new video not only shows that there are different ways to complete a mission but you can be quite creative and inventive when it comes to taking down vehicles. Have you ever wanted to blow up a helicopter using C4 while the copter was still in the air? Have you ever wanted to actually make a jeep float up into the air? Now you can do both, as the video shows, by attaching a mini hot air balloon to a jeep loaded with C4, and then floating that jeep up to the helicopter you can take it down without firing a shot.

This truly does seem like an original idea when talking about taking out enemies and is likely one of the reasons so many of the early reviews have been rather glowing. A lot has been made of the realism of the game, but it’s the absurd that has always made this series so beloved by its fans. Metal Gear Solid 4: The Phantom Pain is due for launch on September 1.
