Destiny Level Cap Changes, Gunsmith Leveling and Exotic Blueprints Going Live With Update 2.0

Several major changes will be going live for Destiny on September 8th.

Major changes are afoot with Destiny and while The Taken King will signal the largest expansion the game has seen yet, update 2.0 will arrive on September 8th to throw things for a loop.

According to the Bungie Weekly Update, players will be able to take advantage of the increase level cap to 40 on Tuesday itself. The segregation of one’s character and Light levels will occur on that day itself, with higher Light level characters being “grandfathered” in”. The new Quest interface will also go live and it seems that any incomplete Exotic weapon bounties will be auto-complete at that point. Eris’s Crota bounties will also be retired and Crota’s Bane rep will be earned through missions in The Taken King.

Did we mention Exotic Armour and Weapon Blueprints being added to the tower along with unified armour materials, shader/emblem collections, etc? Along with the upcoming preview of The Taken King’s Crucible content, it’s a good time to return to Destiny. Stay tuned for more information as The Taken King releases on September 15th.
