Xbox 360 Update Increases Cloud Storage Space to 2GB

A pretty hefty update for a legacy machine, all in all.

Microsoft’s continued support for the Xbox 360is admirable- earlier this year, they enabled external hard drive support for the Xbox 360, finally removing the need for proprietary hard drives to meet storage needs on the console, and now, they have increased the amount of cloud storage space available to the player to 2GB in their latest update. Basically, this means that you shouldn’t have to juggle your cloud saves much any more.

In addition to the cloud storage increase, Microsoft have also enabled a few other features that have been long requested- users can now redeem Xbox Live Marketplace codes from messages, and their Microsoft account balance will be shown when they are looking at game details or browsing the marketplace. Support for public area Wifi networks, such as those found in, say, a hotel, that require you accept their terms of use before you can log on, has also been added to the console, as well as a new Activity Feed, and Friends List unification with Xbox One and Windows 10.

All in all, it’s a surprisingly robust update for a system that had its successor introduced nearly two years ago now, but it is good to see Microsoft not abandon their bestselling console.
