Destiny Introducing Microtransactions With Eververse Trading Company

These will be purely cosmetic however and will go live on October 13th.

Remember Tess Everis, who disappeared one week before The Taken King released for Destiny? She’s making her long-awaited return…and bringing microtransactions with her.

Bungie has announced that it will be selling 18 brand new emotes via the Eververse Trading Company and you can pick them up from Tess Everis’s stall. The developer has promised that these aren’t essential to gameplay and are completely optional. They can be purchased with Silver, which costs real money, and Bungie will offer free Silver to some players so they can try out an emote or two.

Before you accuse Bungie of selling out though, it seems the revenue from Eververse will go towards great things. “Our plan is to use these new items to bolster the service provided by our live team for another full year, as they grow and create more robust and engaging events that we’ll announce later this year. It has been, and continues to be, our goal to deliver updates to the game. Going forward, our live team is also looking to grow beyond vital updates and improvements to focus on world events, experiences, and feature requests.”

The Eververse Trading Company comes to Destiny on October 13th, which is the same day Iron Banner returns. Thoughts? Let us know in the comments.
